I have summer and winter tires/rims for my jeep. I've never had a problem because it automatically remembers new TPMS sensor IDs as you drive. I bought snow tires/rims from Tire Rack for my new Toyota and after the store fitted them they couldn't figure out how to get their $20,000 scanner to turn off the TPMS light. Toyota does not automatically remember new TPMS sensor IDs. You need to connect the tool to the OBDII connector to save them on the on-board computer. It turned out that the workshop could not find out these identifiers. This tool reads the TPMS sensor IDs from each wheel and connects to the OBDII connector to store them in the on-board computer. In addition, it can read/erase codes. It was easy to use and only took about five minutes once I figured everything out.
