My tent spring broke after 7 years. I've put off the exchange because it won't be easy or cheap. I prefer to do everything myself. The product arrived and was installed in about 30 minutes. All alone. Now I can extend or raise the awning without outside help. I have an 18ft awning so one person had to unbolt the lock and another held the cord to pull it out or prevent it from rolling up on its own. Now I use my tent as much as possible. If it's windy I can put it back on, no problem. I bought the pen separately and it works great with it. If the spring on your tent breaks and it fits your tent, simply replace the spring with this one.
