I've had a few shoe organizers like this above my door before, and for almost every reason I could think this one is the best. But let's be sensible, this is just a $13 utility storage system, it either works for your purposes or it doesn't, and if it doesn't work, just send it back. EXPECTATIONS I have a very small dressing room, at least it's bigger than most. It has a clothes rail on three sides and enough space for a few shelves for t-shirts, which I have a lot of and don't like stuffing in drawers, plus I set aside two shelves for my shoes. I have 24 pairs, which is maybe a little more than most men. This organizer happens to hold exactly 24 pairs. And let's be clear, some shoppers seem disappointed because they expected more than one shoe in each bag. I have never heard of anything like this unless they are very small sandals. Which brings me to the first thing I like, which is that the pockets on this piece are much larger than most, they easily fit my largest hiking boots without sagging or stretching. Next on the list of things I like is that they use metal hooks instead of plastic hooks like most other brands, and they use four of these that fit into very large metal grommets, which helps distribute the weight evenly across the top parts of the hook door is distributed. Before purchasing any over door storage item you need to accept the reality that there is no standard for how much clearance around a door is in the world so there is no way such a thing fits all possible options. It's not the product or the builder of your home. It's just reality. There has to be a compromise: either the metal is very thin to fit in most door crevices, or it is thick enough to support the weight of 24 boots. I think this company did a good job of finding a good compromise and I think these hooks will do the job. When I suddenly decided that I needed something like that, it was an aha moment, I have wooden wardrobe doors and the inner door is completely lost as living space. This organizer is just the right width and length for a medium sized sliding closet door and the bonus is you don't have to worry about the gap when closing the door as the slide rails give you plenty of room for the hooks used. YES OR NO. This is a product that is perfect for everyone, so I have tried to give you as much information as possible with real photos of how it is made and used. I bought it with my own money and didn't get anything for free - I was amazed at how many others liked it and I can vouch for them being right, this company did everything they could to get it right and the price reasonable to keep. I don't see anything wrong with that at all. I don't expect it to last forever, but it's obvious they used good materials and sewed it right. I am very satisfied with it and I think this product really deserves five stars.
