You really only need four knives. A good Chiefs knife (8+ inches), a good bread knife, and a great paring knife, and another Chiefs knife to make your family and friends feel like they're helping. This is a reliable paring knife. Although it's not Misen quality, it's still a good and cheap alternative. It is quite high in carbon and sharpens well. The handle's simple aesthetic suits any hand that can get used to it. A small gap between the blade and the handle favors smaller fingers when chopping or swinging, which is the realm of traditional chief's knives. However, thanks to its slightly longer length and slight curvature, it can handle it well. This is a great knife if you take care of it and don't mind the unusual handle design.
