The key here, as other reviews have noted, is the size of the thumbhole. I just compared it to the coins in my pocket: A LARGE USER HOLE LITERALLY THE SIZE OF A US NICKEL, only a hair SMALLER! If the material wasn't elastic, even nickel wouldn't fit. And because the hole is stitched along the edges, it doesn't stretch as much as it might, and cutting further would take away the reinforcement the stitching provides. Otherwise this is a good product. It's pretty much what you'd expect - a strip of neoprene (wetsuit material) with finished edges and a patch of Velcro - but better quality than the price suggests. If you're like my wife and have small wrists and finger toothpick hands I would definitely recommend this, it's a pretty decent quality. OK. The return process was uncomplicated. Just two clicks and I'm ready.
