I'm using this on an AT2020 (XLR, not USB) and it works much better than I expected. It replaces the nylon pop screen it used to make. Good job, but not as good as this one. It's quite a thick foam, just under 1/2 inch I'd say, so there's plenty of dead space to dissipate air movement, but I didn't notice any impact on sound quality in terms of damping or distortion. I'm sure someone somewhere has made an overpriced item like this that's up to date, certified acoustically transparent, etc. But let's be honest: it's a piece of foam designed for $100. Entry-level XLR microphone. Most of the mistakes the target audience will make with this setup are technical (which the hardware can't fix) and editing (which the hardware can't fix either). This is a great addition to a great beginner mic. and you should use it.
