I have this pen, cheaper, more expensive, blue lab and also a wall unit. They all have temperature readings, which is a must have for any pH pen when using it on plants. My tap water reads around 7-7.1 on this meter and in the blue lab. Oddly, after use and thorough mixing (ph 5.9), this meter consistently reads 0.5-1 more than the blue lab. The wall unit is usually 0.2-0.4 smaller than this. Again, all units correctly measure the water coming out of the tap in the same way. It is strange. In any case, I use the average range as a measure. So if the blue lab pen reads 5.6 then this one is 6.1, I'm guessing the pH is 5.9. The wall block is always between two pen sizes, but since it attaches to the wall, it is not always convenient to use. Overall, his version of the reading is consistent, but you still need a second knob to check if you're trying to change the pH. I'm wondering if lowering the pH on the accuracy of this pen along with all other pH pens will affect the store. What drives me nuts is that they all read the same value from the faucet, but as soon as I add ph, they keep showing different readings. Someone needs to research this. By the way, I always have a sponge in my hand. Wet the cap with the appropriate solution. If you have this Ph pen or any other, you will need to purchase the storage solution separately. And you must buy one and always use it if you want the meter to give reliable readings.
