So i have never left a review on amazon. I work in the millwright field. We uses markers all day laying out metal frames, pipe, machinery, concrete, wood, plasitc, UHMW, many things. I came to amazon today to look up some sharpie pro markers and saw these and remembered buying them a couple years ago. Marking devices are support important in our field, i would pay a fairly good sum of money for a ultra quality marker. I read the reviews on these before, saw the significant price and made the purchase. They are likely the worst markers ive ever used. The cool lid idea is certainly designed to sell more than function, its way more hassle than useful. The tip is awful. Very wide tip, not good for using to layout anything. Id say realistically a 3/32 wide mark from a new marker is legit. The durability of the tip is trash. Rusty metal. big negative, concrete. forget it. And the ink is likely the worst feature. I bougbt the bright orange ones, super excited at the idea of being able to see the ink on black steel. Not sure what the ink is made of, but its nearly invisable on black metal. At the very end of mark there is a hint of orange, within a few seconds it almost disappears. Truly awful. I plain black sharpie is miles beyond these in usefulness. I would truly pay 18 dollars for a single marker if it could hold a fine line, ink not fade, and the tip last with at least mild legitimacy on rough metal or concrete, and if the marker would continue to work after touching the slightest amount of water. These markers fail at all of these with an outrageous price for such failure.
