Review on 🔩 LFPartS Black Stainless Steel License Plate Backing Reinforce Plate (12"x6") by Michael Jennings

The product description states that it is made of thick stainless steel. The term Heavy Duty without measurement or reference is meaningless. Further in the product description the thickness of the plate is 1 mm. For me, who has experience welding tractor and trailer steel, 1mm is not difficult. I measured the base plate with my welding gauge and it fits the 18 gauge slot which is .0478" or 1.214 mm. Not thin but thick enough to bend with bare hands. It's non-magnetic, so I'm assuming the stainless steel description is correct.Like some of the other reviewers, my support has one side well finished.The other side has raised grooves which I believe were created by cutting that side of the plate down one piece Corrugated board has been laid. With a properly applied powder coating this should not happen so my theory is that the panel has been spray painted. However having a bad side is not a problem as it can be hidden by a number plate. I use the plate on mine Appliance trailer and it looks good Both the plate and trailer are new now so it will be an additional addition to my review as things go b keep up with the weather. The holes and edges of the bottom plate are very clean and smooth. I lowered my rating by one star for the plate with the poorly finished side.
