How to unlock myself from the inside After being locked in my van for two hours๐Ÿ˜ฑ I had to find a better way to get out next time. Especially for seniors for people , the decision to jump out of the emergency exit is unacceptable and dangerous. โš ๏ธSo I spend another 2 hours trying to find the best way. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸคฉSo here is the solution for the THOR Hurricane model. Let me know if this works for other models / please post below.1. DO NOT open the lock converter! 2. Do not try to pick the lock from inside or outside.3. Anything you need can be done from inside.4. Remove the plastic strip from the door upholstery next to the lock 4b. Make sure the latch is unlocked5. Use a flathead screwdriver or a sturdy kitchen knife to insert the deadbolt into the lock body.6. The door should open. That's all. The next step is to remove the broken lock case. Remove the screw from the inside of the panel 2. Save all screws3. Now remove the two front panel screws.4. Pull the back of the lock frame first, then insert the centering bolts into the holes.5. Replace the door lock1. Unpack and locate screws and locks.2. Try inserting the lock into the door by first threading the centering tabs through the door holes. Make sure the latch mechanism does not lock the latch in its final position. Schneider4. Once in place, screw in the two countersunk screws to install the lock body in the door.5. Check the latch by turning the key, it should turn without friction.6. Ready to mount the inner bezel with the 3 remaining pan head screws. Time to replace the strike plate. 1A Unscrew Strike Plate (Flat Head Screw - DO NOT LOSE) 1B. You will need a small pry bar to pry the door frame away from the Rv wall and push the striker plate into Rv.2. Don't use too much force, just push it outward.3. Replace strike plate - square hole on top.4. Secure the plate with two pan head screws, but do not tighten.5. Close the door so the center bolts align with the striker plate.6. Open the door and tighten the striker plate screws.7. Check the latch again - it should move very easily.8. Final tightening of all screws DONE Grease once a year REPLACE DOOR LOCK EVERY 8 years - even with light use Hope that helped.
