This shelf is perfect for my sewing workshop. The boxes in the picture are show boxes that I bought in bulk for a dollar. They're stuffed with scraps of fabric, so not very heavy, but I'm guessing about the same weight as a regular pair of shoes. The shelf is perfect for this use! I chose not to add handles because I wanted it to fit under my cutting table and have enough room to use the top shelf for storage. A few notes: 1) Very easy to assemble if you read the instructions. I put the connectors in the wrong order a few times and had to remove them, but that's my fault - they were easy to remove and got it right. Installation only took a few minutes. 2) The shelves feel like thick coated paper rather than material, but seem strong enough for their purpose. 3) I wouldn't use it for heavy purposes, but it's great for shoes or other reasonably light items!
