Lately I've noticed that my vinyl records have a lot of static electricity. This may be because I bought a new Pro-Ject player as I didn't notice the problem with my Elac Miracord player. Everything is properly grounded, but the dust seemed just waiting for its turn to bounce on my records. I ordered this leather disc pad, replaced the felt pad that came with the Pro-Ject and to my delight the static problem was gone. Not reduced. but calm. I was looking to buy an acrylic sheet, but with this leather rug (not to mention the FUNNY expensive acrylic sheet) I was a happy buyer. This product looks good, feels good and has my recommendation.
