I first bought this lighter to use the flashlight function which was great for the first few uses. However, the upper slide switch, which was used to choose between flame and torch, became so free after a very short time that it was only moved by gravity. Pointing the lighter down to light the pipe puts the switch in the flame position unless I put something down the barrel to hold the slide switch in place. Eventually I gave up and went with the flame setting, but that led to another problem. As with most lighters, flame height adjustment is done with a tiny Phillips head screw on the bottom that requires a small screwdriver to turn. While I was able to leave the torch setting on the low setting, the flame when igniting is unreliable and too high, which can end up burning my fingers in the process. You get what you pay for.
