I have a 2006 Ford Explorer and both outlets are always plugged into outlets. I had a regular power distributor that I recently connected my radar detector to. Of course, I started forgetting to turn it off and dumped the battery 3 times. So I started looking for an auto disconnect USB port splitter that also had a flat plug as Ford decided a good location of the power connector would be right where the cup holders are, reducing the usability of a was essentially eliminated from them. on this little gem and thought it was too good to be true. Installed yesterday, configured to not turn on 5 seconds after start and set the auto off timer for 1 minute after reaching 12.7 volts on the battery and so far so good! Turns off when it's supposed to, turns on when it's supposed to. I noticed that if you manually turn it off before you turn off the car, you have to turn it on manually because it remembers the state it was in when the car was turned off. If you think it will work and let it turn off, it will turn back on using the same terminals that were on when the engine stopped. The video for Revain is also very helpful, after watching it several times it no longer had to be mentioned. This is the only video with all these features. It even came with 4 cable management to give you a nice clean look once installed. I have attached some photos for your reference. I've only had it for a day now and so far it's working as advertised. If anything changes I'll update this review, but so far so good. No more dead batteries as I left it on for auto shut off and this morning I was able to start the car remotely with no issues. I can even get the voltage up to 13.0 just by waiting to see where the average is while I ride, because if you set it too high and your voltage drops to it while riding, it will initiate a shutdown sequence when you reach that .
