Review on Sigma 18 300Mm F3 5 6 3 Contemporary Macro by Eunu ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

Ideal for those who prefer outdoor activities and who do not have the time or desire to mess around with lenses. Particularly for me. With my Canon EOS 70D it quickly finds focus without yaw. I wouldn't say it's expensive. For that kind of money, you get a universal lens with which you can work in a wide thematic spectrum, and have it as a regular one. After that, it will not be difficult for you to decide on the specifics and buy the necessary equipment. There is no traditional branded case included. When the switch is moved to AF mode, the white band becomes clearly visible, while in MF it has the color of the lens. I really liked the sharpness of the lens throughout the range. I ran the lens at -5 degrees. I did not notice any brakes in autofocus. As for macro photography, it is more difficult here. The lens does not always catch what it needs. True, if you hit, then the frame will be very sharp, and the bokeh will be pleasant. The zoom and focus rings are rubberized and very pleasant to touch. When using the optional Sigma TC-1401 and Sigma TC-2022 teleconverters, autofocus works and aperture does not change. Perhaps because of this, the actual shooting focal length is not shown in the EXIF data. Autofocus works as if there are no teleconverters at all. Due to the similar diameter, the lens does not really stand out with them. Due to the small trunks of the teleconverters themselves, the lens trunk does not fully retract, stopping at 30 mm, so it will not work to fix the trunk, and the camera indicates aperture from f = 4, and not from f = 3.5. At the far end, the aperture ratio of the lens does not change. When using the TC-1401, autofocus is possible both through the viewfinder and through the LCD monitor. When using the TC-2022, autofocus is possible only through the LCD monitor.

Pros
  • Sharp throughout the range. Silent. Large range of focal lengths. Smooth movement of the trunk. The presence of a latch trunk. Ideal for travel. Excellently assembled. Very high quality plastic.
Cons
  • Due to the short travel of the focusing ring, it is difficult to make accurate manual aiming. The impossibility of manual focusing without switching the slider to MF mode, which is very tight. The focusing ring is located on the far edge of the lens, and if the hood is put on with the reverse side, then it is difficult to get to it. Also, fingers can easily get into the frame.
