Review on πŸ”§ The Beadsmith Wig Jig Wig-A-Ma-Jig Deluxe: Wire Findings & Jewelry Design Tool by Rene Carrell

Decent product that could use a little improvement

Quality is good although the legs kept falling out until I glued them on. The plastic backs of the pens are not compatible in size. Some are too big, some fit well and some are very tight to the point where I have to pry them off with pliers, sometimes messing them up. But in using the device, I found that the narrower the back, the better. I had no problems with the wrong pins. I have found it helpful to use thin cheap wire for practice first before using my expensive sterling wire. This also allows me to figure out what length to use with minimal loss. I use an earring maker but it takes some practice to get used to. To be honest I thought it would be easier to use. I have a hard time keeping the pins in place exactly when bending and then sometimes the base lifts up and I feel like I need ten extra fingers to hold the wire, pins and base in place and when bending to hold position. I think if the pens held up better, didn't wobble and the base was heavier this would be a much better product. But be that as it may, it's still useful, especially when it comes to creating sequential parts.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Some small things
