After installation, the lamp in the left rear light had no power. All other lamps worked as usual. After testing it many times, I found that there was an open circuit inside the molded connector and I had to connect the left and right brown taillights to get power to both taillights. Verification of the integrity of the wiring after manufacture would have revealed that this was a defective unit that should be discarded at the factory and not sent to paying customers.
