Good pump for the money!

First off, I don't know much about well drilling, but I'm learning. Drilled a well six months ago and finally installed this pump at 90 feet. (a good 100 feet) It pumps some of the most disgusting water I've ever seen, the appearance was like chocolate milk at times. Anyway, I timed it, turning it on for 2 minutes and off for 15 minutes, trying to slowly clear the well of silt and sand. The pump shut off after about 24 hours, the 10 amp switch tripped. Eventually I pulled the pump out and found that the impeller was blocked by small rocks in the pump. I washed and flushed and cleaned the pump and it worked again so it was back in the hole. This time at 80 feet I'll slowly drop it as the water clears. A note on how the small rocks got into the impellers. A stainless steel cover with small holes, which serves as a privacy screen, is attached with two screws. On the opposite side of the screws is a notch and a tab through which the motor wiring enters the pump motor housing. The dimensions of this tab did not allow to prevent stones larger than the holes in the grid from entering the pump. I fixed this by installing a stainless steel hose clamp around the bottom of the strainer. This does not affect flow as none of the perforated holes are covered, but the exposed area for pump wiring is no longer open for dirt to enter the pump. Overall I think it's a good pump, I'm buying another one as a backup as this pump has been abused but continues to work. I give him 5 stars if he works at least a year developing the fountain and watering gardens and pastures.
