Review on Oakton 1022 00 Low Cost Thermohygrometer 104F by Jim Bethea

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Low (?) cost of a thermohygrometer.

This tool is 5" in diameter, looks very nice and I think if I'm pushing against the wall I'll be happy to look at it . His thermometer uses a metal probe while his hygrometer uses a metal probe with paper. According to the specifications, its temperature accuracy is not very high and its humidity accuracy is quite low. This thermohygrometer is made in China (like many other things these days). I'd probably give it another star if the price including shipping was maybe $30-$32, but as of today, as I'm writing this review, the lowest price on Revain including shipping is around $56. To update. I've had this thermohygrometer for about ten days now. I have two other inexpensive thermohygrometers, one of which reads consistently about 6 or 7 percent less relative humidity than the other. For several days, my new Oakton 1022-00 read relative humidity somewhere in the middle between the two. Suddenly it showed a lower relative humidity than my other two thermohygrometers. It looks strange to me. I think we should return this Oakton 1022-00.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
