Easy Way to Add Ports

This is a PCIE expansion card that adds up to 10 SATA ports to your desktop computer. It mounts on a full-size metal case (ATX) bracket, but a small metal bracket is included for miniATX computers. The card has 4 SATA connectors on top and a double row of 3 SATA connectors on the end, for a total of 10 connectors. Also included are 10 SATA cables and a pair of mounting screws to replace the case's metal bracket. And a small piece of paper explaining the installation process. The device is compatible with PCI-Express V3, 4.x and SATA 3.1. It supports data transfer rates of 6 Gb/s, 3 Gb/s and 1.5 GB. It works with WinXP to Win10 and Linux. It is based on the Asmedia 1166+JMB575 chipset. This card basically works with any Windows/Linux desktop, regardless of the form factor. I am very pleased with how easy it was to add SATA ports to my desktop computer with this card. I have lots of backup drives and with this card I was able to easily add 2 more SATA drives when I had connectors on my motherboard leaving room for more drives in the future. The card has more speed if you work with one disk at a time. Noticeable slowdown when trying to copy from one drive to another connected to the same card, which is understandable. Now I still need to get some power cables so I can add these extra drives. Although you can connect up to 10 additional drives with this card, be aware that any added drives use shared communication resources through this card. So it's best to only run 1-2 at a time rather than all 10. Power issues if you tried to run all 10 additional disks at the same time. All in all, it's an easy and convenient way to add additional SATA slots to your motherboard for maximum performance.
