Anyone who claims in writing that there is no rise in fuel use is lying. It takes an extra 2–2.5 liters of gas per 100 kilometers when you have bikes in the trunk. And merely the trunk can add another half to a liter or more in the city. In-person confirmation. Don't listen to those who claim the thule trunk is silent. Anything removed from the car's structure that encounters air resistance while in motion generates noise. And after you hit 80 km/h, the noise level really starts to increase.
