When we were furnishing our home we tried different swing gates. However, we skipped it, mistakenly thinking it was just a pressure gate. We later bought it as a portable street gate for our late night visits with family and friends - only to find that this gate can also be permanently installed! If we had known this beforehand, we would have bought these gates wherever we installed gates in our home. This gate works very well as a pressure gate. It locks into place and doesn't move when I try to shake it. However, my husband finds it easier to get the gate in place as a pressure gate than it is for me. However, as a fixed gate they are very easy to use and I have had no problems with them. Another reason I love these gates is that my kid can't open them. At 2.5, she doesn't have the coordination and strength to operate the handle's locking mechanism. On the contrary, she managed to force open the other gates in our house. That's why I wish again that we had discovered this gate sooner!
