I've focused on fertilizers but have come to the conclusion that the quality of the water you start with is just as important, if not more so. Orchids require very few nutrients, but they use large amounts of water, so understanding your water is of the utmost importance. I've found these two tools to work well even though I've only had them recently. I've learned a lot and changed a lot. For example, my water has a pH of 7.1. The ideal range is between 5.5 and 6.5. A higher or more alkaline pH like mine can prevent orchids from absorbing nutrients at their best, so even the best feeding schedule isn't giving you the best possible results. So I think the $20 spent on it was probably a better investment than trying a new fertilizer or supplement.
