Poor performance - not recommended
I installed one of these on a screen door hoping to get a controlled and stable closure. What happens instead is that you open the door about 90 degrees against the tension of the closer, and when you let go of the door it immediately closes more than halfway, then springs back to about 45 degrees, and then slowly and gradually closes. I've configured it every way I can, but the same behavior persists. So you open the door and then it literally hits you in the back of your legs as you try to get through the door and then closes in a controlled and gradual manner. I even bought a second one thinking the first one was defective, but it worked the same way.
