I purchased this product to replace a broken damper on a Kohler Santa Rosa toilet. The exchange was very easy and the product appeared to be of good quality so I expected it to get the job done. I was glad when it got installed. After that I sometimes heard water flowing for 3-5 seconds about once an hour. This was due to the tank being refilled to adjust the water level. I removed Corky's replacement and inspected it for any visible imperfections. I didn't find anything so I reinstalled it. The leakage problem remained unabated. I bought a genuine Kohler key in the same style. When it arrived I compared the two shutters. They looked the same to me, so I installed a Kohler damper. After that, the flow stopped immediately. I can only assume that Corky's firecracker has a defect that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Now I take factory parts.
