Job done! I have salvaged an old irreplaceable classic Bombay shelf (shop) clock with a storage compartment behind a fold down bezel/frame door that I have had for over 30 years! No luck finding another anywhere! So. had to figure out how to replace my frying equipment. Leaving the battery on for too long (depletes and corrodes the battery contacts of the mechanism). That was it! A wide range of "short" hand styles. The decisive factor was the red second hand in the inventory. A real plus when updating a classic piece.
