When debating whether or not to buy it, I couldn't find a good description of what "auto" meant. Couldn't find a good description anywhere. Well, as it turns out, "auto mode" simply means it'll run continuously, even when you're between balloons. I do not get it. Manual mode (when you press the nozzle to activate the air) works great. I can't see why you would want it to keep going while you tie one balloon and pop up the next. In any case, despite the useless "Auto Mode" feature, this pump worked very well. It's a bit noisy. It's about as loud as a hair dryer, which is fine unless you're secretly trying to blow up balloons in the basement. I had to come up with an excuse for making noise in the basement but they didn't let her in there. In the past I've bought these mini helium jacks to inflate balloons. This is the first time I've done this outdoors and I have to say I'm impressed. I bought several balloon coasters that match perfectly and look amazing. One neat thing I've found is that regular air balloons stay inflated much longer than helium (because the molecules are larger). A week passed and only one balloon out of about 100 deflated. Overall I am happier with this pump and balloons than I have been with helium in the past.
