This is a good portable sound machine if you need it on the go or when traveling. It is very light and can therefore easily be put in a suitcase or diaper bag. This device requires 3 AAA batteries, so make sure you have them ready before purchasing. Pros: - nice clean modern design - very light - you can set a timer for 15/30/60 minutes - very easy to use - the door to the battery compartment can be opened with a 1 cent coin if you don't you have access to a screwdriver nearby - sound clear, clean, gets pretty loud at max volume Cons: - 3 AAA batteries required, non-rechargeable - limited selection of sounds and music Overall I think this is a great portable sound machine is when you need car use or short term use as it runs on batteries. I wouldn't want to use it as the primary audio device in a child's room just because I don't want to be constantly changing batteries. Normally we leave the sound machine running all night while the baby sleeps, from 7pm to 6am, which would result in too many battery changes in just a month. It would be good to take it with you when traveling. It has everything you need: ocean, rain, white noise, relaxing music.
