If your water is high in calcium/hardness, the Camco 02953 Element is what you need. I've had good success with this element in my bad water. American water heater EE123-50x 045dm. The only difficulty is the hole to access the lower element. You can't get your fingers to the base of the element to keep it straight. I ended up using a 38mm deep auto socket and a screwdriver through a 1/2 square hole to level the element to get it working. It took a lot of time, but it was worth it. This is my second sentence. The original set lasted about 1 1/2 years, but my water heater is constantly turning the elements on and off to save energy. The bottom element opened from the inside, so I replaced both. The original elements will sizzle in 3 weeks, so this is the best solution I've found so far. The PS version 02963 started hissing early, so I don't recommend using it in hard water.
