I like the color. Like any new product that is heated, it will smell the first few times you use it to burn off residue on the heating wires, so don't toast the bread right away until you've run it through a few times. The only thing it does NOT say is that it is cold to the touch which means it will be hot to the touch on the outside surfaces especially near the tops and back so DO NOT install it with anything that can melt, and do NOT select it. up to move it right after use. Otherwise, my three-slice bread test toasted evenly, I just had to find the right setting for medium browning.
