Wonky External Components

I'm trying to use this between win laptop, win desktop and linux desktop while working at home. It worked great when I first got it, but now it's developing a regular attitude of not working. My mouse comes and goes, and heck, sometimes even the keyboard seems to exist. This is particularly finicky on a Linux machine.
