I hope this post helps anyone who is thinking about buying the ASICS Split Second Wide wrestling shoes. I am writing this post the day I receive my order. After having bad luck at various sporting goods stores, the wrestling shoes I tried on were often too narrow/small, so I ordered the ASICS Split Second Wide men's wrestling shoes because they are the only shoes that fit wide feet. I was a little hesitant about these shoes fitting me as I had no luck with previous wrestling shoes. I usually wear 12-12 1/2 wide sneakers so I ordered 1 pair of shoes in a size 12 and 13 hoping one pair would fit me and the other would come back. The first pair I tried on were 12s and I was amazed at how well they fit me. There is literally nothing to complain about the shoe and its size. Some shoes are very snug on the toes due to the fabric or the cut of the shoe, these don't - I jumped rope in them to make sure nothing was uncomfortable in the shoes. I tried 13s but they were too big. These shoes definitely run true to size, so if you normally wear a size 12 trainer, order a size 12. I know some people say that wrestling shoes should go up a size, but since this pair is made for a wider one foot, I think it would be unnecessary to go up a size. At 13, I had about an inch of room in my feet from the front of my shoe to my big toe, which made me walk like I was wearing clown shoes. Size 12 is just right for a person who normally wears size 12 shoes. I don't understand why people say this shoe is NOT wide. They may not be as wide as DDDD, but they are definitely wider than any wrestling shoe you can find at a sporting goods store. I would place them between a regular size shoe and the widest shoe available. Don't settle for tight wrestling shoes because that's the only style available in stores.
