Update: After my device died (10 months) I tried to get an RMA to get it back. D-link insists I send it back to them including everything that was in the box such as B. the quick installation guide. If I leave this bin (which I no longer have), they charge me $35, which is more than what I paid for this device. The return shipping is also at my expense. THE D-LINK WARRANTY IS NOT USEFUL. What they don't tell you is that you can't take advantage of its main selling point - the high current fast charge mode - with an Apple computer. The same with Linux. it only supports windows computer for this mode. On Windows machines, you need to install a driver that will look for the iPad and only then enable high-performance mode. So it's useless except for iPads (not iPhones) on widowed computers. The only way to use high performance mode is to unplug it from the computer so that it is no longer a USB hub, after which high performance mode will be activated. That means it's just an expensive charger, not a USB hub. All of this is described in the instructions that come with it, but not in the marketing literature. They get 1 star because they are misleading. Update: The fine print at the bottom of the ad now says you must shut down your computer to use fast charge mode. Why is this big deal in the fine print? Update: 10 months later it died. Now I am unable to contact D-Link Technical Support. Your so-called chat is just a troubleshooting database, not a real person. I send out three emails a month and only get automatic replies. There is no RMA number or replacement instructions. Telephone connections do not work. However, I did find a number to call them on gethuman.com 800-326-1688 for tech support. Do not select the phone menu item for technical support as this will only give you another phone number to call as this model will not be listed in the phone endless menu. Instead, you must select a customer service path in the phone tree. Then they will say that you need to speak to tech support first to get an RMA number. They can put you in the correct support phone queue. After an hour of waiting, you can get an RMA number after diagnosing your dead box to no avail. You can then call customer service to return it. Or you just can't buy D-Link products. If your time has value, this is the best option.
