You will need to adjust the sill up or down to get the correct gap and seal. Before mounting on the door, lower the sill as much as possible. If your sill is at a fixed height, you'll want to make sure the clearance from the bottom of the door is 1/4" to 5/16". I used nails to attach the bottom of the door to the door. Be sure to mount the rain shield to the outside of the door.
