I've had one of these units for about 10 years and love it - I'm not the best cook but I like what I can fry in it and see exactly where I find myself in the cooking process without opening the oven door and inserting a thermometer rod. This device has a magnet on the back and a long enough sensor cable so I'm not limited on where to put the pan in the oven (some of them are too short and I have to keep the thermometer block that close to the oven door). or put the pan inside closer to the door). There are clear temperatures for different degrees of doneness of the meat and an alarm to tell you when the dish is ready. This thermometer is so durable and easy to use that I bought it for my mom - she loves it too! could still ruin my cooking but not because this gadget doesn't do its job - highly recommend.
