Cannot be used to replace old smoke alarms
I used these smoke alarms to replace old faded alarms in a recently purchased home. It never occurred to me that the base would be so different that these wouldn't fit. Be ready to re-equip all the bases and they are so small it will make a hole in the wall. Turns into a lot of work to save a few bucks.
