The first one I bought gave a false alarm (gas) after 3 years. I was forced to decommission it before the end of the 5 year lifespan. I'll buy this again because there are few options on the market (and it fits an existing hole). We live in this non-smoking van all the time, so the operating conditions were perfect for 365 days. Hope for better service this time.

I bought this for my new caravan and received it on 3/8/2021. Imagine my dismay to discover that this device was already 18 months old when I opened it. That! These CO monitors are good for ONLY FIVE YEARS. So I actually only get 3.5 years out of this thing! If the trailer hadn't already expired I would have sent it back to Revane!

BEWARE. WRONG SIZES are advertised for this item! I purchased this item (and paid extra) because the advertised dimensions matched exactly the old carbon monoxide/propane detector in my RV, so I was hoping to easily replace my old unit with this one. NOT RIGHT. This item is SMALLER than the original, so it was too small for the existing hole. x 2.75 x 1.5 inches

Money out the window! The device didn't even last a year! After a year of installation, an alarm went off indicating a device malfunction. We checked again and it still goes out and indicates a device fault. The device should last five years. The device is September 2015, I bought it in February 2016 and the alarm went off at the end of 2016. We checked again and it's still defective. Save your money! Very disappointed with this device.

Buyers beware, although the packaging advises you to replace after FIVE years, if it breaks sooner they tell you the warranty is only ONE year! Our initial RV lasted about two years, then random alarms for no reason. Always in the middle of the night! I ended up taking it off and ordering another, then called and expected it to be replaced. nope! It passed a one year warranty (not advertised). Fairly easy to install, needs a couple of wire nuts for not bothering to include them. But like others have said, it breaks down pretty quickly. This is the biggest scam. These things don't last forever, but this company has committed to programming a product expiration date. The instructions say it's best to replace it after five years of *use*, but the device will stop working five years after the date of manufacture. Take one that's been on the shelf for a year (like me) and it only lasts four years before it starts squeaking evilly. You can delay the beep for 72 hours in the first month. Bought a used caravan and found there was no light on an old LP defector. Invested a little more and found it completely disconnected/cut wires. It was old, probably original, so I ordered this one.
