These are thin sponges. If you have a gray and white kitchen, they will fit perfectly into your space. Another reviewer claimed that dirty pots were rinsed clean after washing, but that's not my experience. The soft side works well for general cleaning and is slightly cooler than a regular cellulose sponge where the cellulose is in the middle. The cleaning side is as good as any, but I've noticed that it doesn't leave the tiny scratches that some washcloths leave. The downside is that after washing a dirty pan, brown and black spots will appear much more clearly than on a green or blue sponge. This site asks me to rate the smell but I didn't notice any.
