When my window regulator broke, I did what a lot of us doβstick things in the door to jam the window until I could fix it. When I thought about the renovation, it seemed outrageously high for such a simple job. So, like many others, I went to the Internet and found videos of the usual Shmok making repairs. Then I wondered if the aftermarket part would work well and it was reviews like this as well as how-to videos that convinced me to do it myself. Seriously, this job requires very basic tools and very little mechanical skill. The key is attitude - there are some frustrating moments when swapping, but they're not serious and you save a decent amount of money and it's nice to do it yourself. I did the exchange 8 months ago and everything works fine. I even bought a regulator for another window as it's only a matter of time before it breaks so I'm ready to go with the new part.
