Review on 🔧 Bora Portamate PM-3500: The Ultimate Industrial Strength Universal Rolling Mobile Base to Effortlessly Move Your Heaviest Power Tools by Luca Washington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great mobile base, useless manual

I've had a lot of chassis, mostly cheap stuff with thin rails. I saw the Bora base in a YouTube video and it looked better than most so I bought it for my jet band saw (around £400). I believe in overengineering so this industrial stand is a bit over the top but I'm glad I bought it. The rails are solid metal, beautifully painted and of a very high quality. The bolts are large and once assembled you can rest assured that this thing will take anything. However, the instructions are terrible. Tiny illustrations with little or no instructions. For example, instructions (or illustrations) never show spring supports! What you are actually told is to install the orange blades and just keep building. When you're done and still have your sprung legs, you'll realize, oh, these things have to go somewhere. So if you buy this, make sure you install the legs before attaching the orange blades. This industrial location is also not "small” enough for many power tools such as the spindle sander. Before ordering, check the dimensions of your tool stand and compare to the reach of this stand. I would have given 4 1/2 stars because of bad instructions but the stand is so good that would be unfair and I can't give 1/2 stars anyway lol. Highly recommended for your heavy power tools. One last point, the fixed wheels on the ends of these stands provide PITA when you want to move the instrument. There is a more expensive version of this stand that comes with free spinning wheels which I think are worth the extra money and I would happily order one. I have an industrial base SawStop with fully articulated wheels and it's great.

Pros
  • HIGHEST LOAD CAPACITY: The Bora Portamate PM-3500 mobile base has the largest load capacity of any trolley at 1500 lbs. (680 kg). Its industrial strength makes it ideal for larger, heavier appliances like metal cabinets, freezers, safes and more.
Cons
  • There are defects
