My first impressions were that it is much stronger than the aluminum versions with metal gears instead of plastic, stainless steel construction and looks well made. Having used it twice now, I have found that the pot heats evenly and gives a yield of almost 100%. However, there are two concerns: 1. Since it's much heavier than aluminum, it requires two hands and a glove or pillow to pop the popcorn. The vertical shaft is almost 1/4 inch shorter so it doesn't mix the grains causing them to burn. The gear wheel is pressed into the shaft, so adjustment is not possible. tongs to change its geometry) so that it lightly touches the bottom of the pot. This is a definite disadvantage of this product (and aluminum poppers don't have this problem). Otherwise I would have given it a 4 star "Like" instead of a 3 star "Okay".
