I had a 12 volt tire inflator and the cigarette lighter plug broke rendering it unusable. I decided to cut the connector and solder a new SAE quick connector and then connect it to the SAE connector. With this I could easily repair the next defective plug and possibly also connect it with crocodile clips. I've read of some other products that had the + and - (minus) terminals reversed, but that wasn't a problem. I was able to just solder the wires "through" with no reverse gear. Success! This product seems to fall into the increasingly rare, hard-to-identify "high-end" category rather than sheer junk from China. Yes, it's made in China, but it can be made to a higher standard and with some quality control. For example, it has a fuse, high-quality screws are used, it has real copper wire with a decent cross-section. It's still only $10 with overnight shipping. Well done!
