Review on 🐒 Large 3-Pound Tortoise Food by Pretty Bird International - SPB77320 by Amanda Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cosmo loves a cute pet.

Cosmo, a 120 pound sulcata turtle in my backyard, has been eating Pretty Pets' large turtle food since it was the size of a tennis ball (January 1998). Now over the past few years I've reduced the amount I give him and switched to grass/hay and veggies with some fruit. It has a bit more protein than they need on a regular basis and further feeding will cause their shell to become a bit pyramid shaped. This is a common sight for these captive turtles. The shell looks normal to the unfamiliar eye, but if you've ever seen a sulcata in its natural habitat, these turtles' shells are much smoother. Your tortoise will grow very quickly on this diet. When Cosmo weighed 60 pounds a few years ago, he was gaining 1 to 1.5 pounds a month. You can see why I reduced his protein intake. He has weighed 120 pounds for about a year. However, Kos loves his cute pet, so now I occasionally use him as a treat.
