Discreet, but incredibly expensive and not for long. Unfortunately Boyds prices for small sizes are the same as for large lots. In this case, a sachet of almost 50% more Chemi Pure actually costs 10% less than this sachet. Boyd's insists that you don't open big bags to put them in small ones and save big bucks. But I've found that if you really want to go that route, you can do it. These bags are also very small. Unless you have a tiny pico tank, not a nano, they only last a very short time. I also found that the phosphate reduction was very minimal in my 5 gallon pico. More practical was the use of two bags, which had to be exchanged relatively quickly. In the end, being as much a Boyd fan as I am, I just bought good quality activated charcoal, Fosbane (or a decent granular iron oxide) and Seachem Purigen and you're spot on. Simply measure what you need, fill into filter bags, rinse well, done. I'm sorry Boyd, but you guys are taking too much and that's what got me into making it by hand. And now that I realize how easy and not as uncomfortable as I thought it was, and effective, I don't think I'll be going back.
