I really like these lights. I had another brand and need two more if I upgrade my 40 gallons to 125. They have a plastic cap and a plastic(?) body versus the other which was metal and glass. I prefer the lighter weight and hope it doesn't rust as much as the old metal. The light output is similar to another I have successfully conserved coral on. I would have hoped for more height, but that's most likely because I'm a newer reef ranger than these lights. Another thing is that the old flashlight had two power cords, one for white and one for blue in case you wanted them on separate timers. You only have one power cord, which is a compromise, but it's better to be able to daisy chain and have fewer cords. This is definitely a good buy for those who don't want to spend a lot of money on lighting.
