This turned out to be an identical factory replacement for my 2002 Silverado 4.8L. It wasn't easy to install, but no more difficult than a nearly identical factory unit. What you need to do is to install the outer protective hose on the inflation valve nipple and then insert the inner corrugated plastic tube into the gas tank. Before clamping the large hose, install the old plastic cap, which slides over the filler assembly, and then screw the plastic cap back into place behind the fender. This can be difficult and time consuming for a beginner. But keep up the good work, and you'll get there with strong fingers and perseverance. Much luck!
