Excellent replacement OEM

Easy install like OEM The only extra thing I had to do was connect the breather tube. The factory breather hose on my car goes all the way to the rear end, but the replacement filler hose doesn't, but that's a quick fix with a double ended fitting.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Faulty

Too bad that didn't work either

I was really hoping other reviews were over the top but the ribbed hose makes it almost impossible to fill my truck with a modern pump. I actually had to cut the hose and attach a stock fuel hose to make it work. Too bad that didn't work either. Poor quality filler cap causing fuel to spill all over the bottom. Total nonsense and I'm sticking with it.

  • Easy install

  • Doubtful

Exact fit for 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 nbs

No rubber outer filler neck included. I took the old interior off, cleaned the interior where everything was covered with rust from the old filler neck, and soaked the rubber filler neck in motor oil to sort of bring it back to life. Then I covered the outside with Vaslin. There were no cracks on my rubber hose, but it was definitely close to dry rot.

Pros
  • Lasting finish
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

POOR DESIGN - The product is decently built, but corrugated plastic tubing causes too much turbulence in the line when filling and causes shut-off nozzles to fire at minimum flow. Will return it and buy another product. The original pipe is mostly straight and periodically has a pair of wavy joints for flexibility, which also allows for more laminar flow.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Perfect OEM replacement!

This turned out to be an identical factory replacement for my 2002 Silverado 4.8L. It wasn't easy to install, but no more difficult than a nearly identical factory unit. What you need to do is to install the outer protective hose on the inflation valve nipple and then insert the inner corrugated plastic tube into the gas tank. Before clamping the large hose, install the old plastic cap, which slides over the filler assembly, and then screw the plastic cap back into place behind the fender. This

  • Great for a small home

Fuel System MH Required

If you live in a rust belt, the old gas filler neck will crumble in a plastic tube. After the check engine light came on and the exhaust leak code came on, I saw that the fuel intake was missing parts. It was an easy fix. Loosen the hose clamp, remove the screws in the neck and tilt the assembly down toward the back of the truck and down to slide and remove. It took a few minutes to get the remaining rusty bits out of the plastic tube, but scraping them off and cleaning them with a paper towelโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Upgrade Availability

Replacing my rusty fuel filler neck was a relatively easy task. It took 15-20 minutes from start to finish. It only requires the use of 2 tools that almost everyone has in their tool box: a flat head screwdriver to remove 2 hose clamps and a wrench to remove the bolts that secure the fuel filler neck to the body of my 2000 GMC Serria 1500. There is no need to drop the gas tank, remove the truck bed or lift the vehicle off the ground. The metal part of my fuel filler neck just behind the fillerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
