Despite what the FAQ says, there is more assembly involved than just "insert the stand into the base and plug it in". HA! The base is heavy and of good quality. The lamp holder also seems to be good. The magnifying glass is heavy, real glass. The weak point here becomes apparent when attempting to place the magnifying glass on the lamp arm. The small latch cannot bear the weight of the magnifier at all. The magnifying glass flops! I solved this assembly problem by gluing two long strips of Gorilla tape around my arm and on the side of the magnifier. By the way, the instructions are incomprehensible. I strongly encourage you to discard this disappointing item unless you also send a roll of strong duct tape.
