security problem! Dangerous

For 8 weeks the whistle mechanism on the lid prevented it from closing completely so the kettle stopped alarming about boiling water. It can quickly overcook and dangerously overheat. Luckily, my husband, a firefighter, saved me from a severe burn by taking him off the stove. The defect is easy to miss and very dangerous.
