A few years ago I crashed a MacBook by catching its charging cable and sending the computer onto a cement floor. I replaced this computer with a MacBook Air with a MagSafe charging port, which has saved me several times. Unfortunately, when I upgraded to the new M1 MacBook Air, the MagSafe port was replaced with a USB-C port that wouldn't turn off if the cable got stuck. I was looking for an adapter that would give me the ability to use MagSafe and transfer power and data. This kit solves that problem. The kit consists of a USB-C connector that fits your computer and a magnetic adapter that snaps onto the connector. The adapter has a USB-C socket that I was able to connect to the charging cable that came with my computer. C. There is also a tool to remove the connector from the computer. I am very happy with this adapter and would recommend this device to anyone with a USB-C powered laptop who wants to protect their computer from accidental drops.
